Modernising an old firebox requires understanding the existing layers before removing part of the lining. The ceramic fibre board may perform the described insulation function but is not a substitute for every chamber component. On the plan, mark separately the working surface, insulation, and support of the entire system.
Check cross-section before ordering
Record the device model and available construction data. Measure the space intended for the board, maintaining required clearances and equipment positioning. Adding thickness at one point may change the entry, support, or access for cleaning.
Ceramic Fibre Board is a rigid insulating board with a declared resistance up to 1260°C in the described applications. The requirements also include the method of supporting and protecting the material. The product temperature does not determine any mechanical load of the entire firebox.
Do not equate insulation with lining
Dense firebricks have different properties and functions than porous insulation. Compare contact with fire, tools, and equipment. In the food zone, also check the required surface and cleaning method according to the device.
Ceramic Fibre Adhesive is used for specific bonding of compatible insulation to the substrate. The adhesive does not automatically confirm any attachment of a heavy part nor all mechanical conditions. Select the component according to the material documentation and the specific system.
Fit the layers before closing
Check the continuity of the insulation, edges, and the location of removable elements. fibres should be secured according to the solution, also along the path of tools. When trimming, apply the requirements of the safety data sheet for the selected product variant.
Keep the drawing and photos of the completed layers. When planning the start-up, take into account the preparation of all materials. The choice of the board should result from the confirmed insulating function; simply replacing the old part with a new one does not justify a promise of greater durability of the entire device.
